On March 28, 2024, Beyoncé dropped Cowboy Carter, a 27-track album that was released with the intention of “reclaiming the black roots of country music.” The album made history, debuting at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and making her the first black woman to top the Country Albums chart. It also won “Album of the Year” and “Best Country Album” at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards.
As the director, producer and animator of the video, I worked alongside Chartmetric’s team to look at which U.S. stations were spinning Cowboy Carter the most, which tracks were getting the most love, and how it all stacked up against European airplay.
